Waltzing the Green and Gold
The atmosphere is charged and the whole family is there, awaiting two hours of good Irish
fun and soul searching ballads. On stage, Vince begins to strum and, as if by magic, takes you
back to Ireland through the power of music and song. Playing guitar, banjo and bodhran (Irish Drum) to accompany his vocals, Vince will have the audience laughing, crying and singing along with loads of the old favorites. As an accomplished and award winning songwriter, this talented man is also a musician. Celtic Style Guitar in alternative tunings are his favourites The mythical story and tune of "Branwen White breast", haunting airs and lilting jigs & reels. Listen for the bodhrans thundering ancient Irish rhythms and of course that comical side of life that gets put to song, like "Jem the Man" a song about the making and drinking of poteen and the results of it all. After a short Guinness break, the second half of the show he returns as the immigrant now living in Australia with "The Aussie Bloke", that great ambassador in the front bar, been there, done that, "Riverina Run" a romantic view of droving, "All roads Lead to the Alice", as heard on "Australia All Over",and "When the Siren Blows" a mining song, which all highlight Vince's own songwriting ability. There's a lot to this two hours for everybody, come along to sing, laugh and hear one of Australia's most talented performers, singer/songwriter Vince Brophy in his show "Waltzing the Green & Gold".
